Waitlist

This topic can be leveraged to direct callers to your waitlist, if applicable, or let them know what queueing options are available.

The waitlist topic is a great way to get information in front of your customers regarding how your restaurant approaches the seating queue outside of reservations. This topic is available to all restaurant types, regardless of your subscription package.

A caller will be directed to the Waitlist topic if they ask anything like the following:

  • “Can you add me to the waitlist?”
  • “Can I get my name on the guest list?”
  • “Do you have call-ahead seating?”

Depending on how you choose to configure this topic, your customer will hear something different. The options are outlined below.

No Configurations

No / No description

Selecting "no" and not including an optional description, callers will hear "Unfortunately, we aren't able to add parties to a waitlist over the phone."

No / Custom description

Selecting "no" and including a description will replace the default response with the custom input.

Note: in either of the above configurations, if your restaurant has a reservation link available, the concierge will offer to text this to the caller after by saying, "The best way to guarantee a table is by making a reservation. If you'd like, I can text you a link to book something with us. Would you like that text?"

Yes Configurations

Yes / No description

Selecting "yes" and not including an optional description, callers will hear "We do have a waitlist."

Yes / Custom description

Selecting "yes" and including a description will replace the default response with the custom input.

Tip: if your establishment only takes names for the waitlist over the phone, recommend callers say "host" to reach the restaurant and put their name down.

Example:

If you'd like to be added to the waitlist, please say "host" and we would be happy to take down your name and party size.

Note: in either configuration, if you include a link, the concierge will offer to text this to the caller after by saying, "I can send you the link to our waitlist. Would you like that text?"
